Hsarci
Well first I have to explain my set-up because I'm not sure how other peoples screens react to closing their laptop. I have a P4 2.0Ghz with SSEII. My video card is a Radeon 7500 Mobility. I am sing callisto .003 fixed along with the Mobilty 7500 QE patch from these forums. I have QE enabled. (Radeontool installed but it doesn't work with calisto) I also have a program called InsomniaX to keep the laptop from falling asleep because it does not wake up from sleep. Ok so when i close my lid my screen stays on but only for like 30 seconds or so, then it turns off and it does not turn back on which is REALLY frustrating. So if I open the lid and move the mouse around it wont go through with turning the screen off. So my idea is (finally) I think if there were some kind of script that would just move the mouse back and forth quietly between 10 pixels or so that was launched before the lid closed that this may possibly prevent the lcd screen from turning off. Anyone know wether I'm wrong or not? Is it possible to write a script like this? Will anyone do it if it is possble? Neonkoala
Insomnia.kext works for me. If I need the screen to stay on when the laptop registers ACPI_lid close then I manually kextload the Insomnia.kext and it works fine for me.
