guiyoforward Posted September 20, 2006 Share Posted September 20, 2006 As usual, I am caught in the middle by Apple's clever marketing/pricing: I don't care about graphics, so the 17 inches iMac is great and cheap for me, but I want a DVD burner and I don't like to hook up some ugly external stuff to my beautiful iMac. Has anyone tried to upgrade the optical drive on a 17" imac? Thanks!! Just be careful removing the metal tape arounrd the lcd panel, remove the screws that hold it down and lift the lcd panel and there it is. Very simple.
