Ok listen. Specis on Hardware Build For OS X on X86.

P4266A MOBO, ATI Raedon9559(9600 PRO=Darwin VESA 2.0 Boot), Sound Blaster Live! USB, Microsoft Wireless Mouse&Keyboard(MAC&PC Compatable) Desktop Series, INTEL P4 1.6 Northwood, 1 GIG DDR, Realteck 10\100 PCI, ViewSonic 17inch LCD, I/O Magic Dual Layer DVD Burner.

Eveything works perfect to:10.4.7, with all the kext and mach_kernel patches With the importing of a few kext files from older versions like the deadmoo 10.4.1 IMG that sprung every Windows XP lover into doing this crude OS X switch...

Listen, I've spent the same amount of money getting this to work 100%, than as if I just went out and bought a Mac Mini!

It doesn't matter what you do and who edits what, it's Steve jobs knowing that this will run to a curtain degree and then either {censored} out, or make adjustments to Supported MAC Software/ Hardware options to break your install.

It's a fun thing to experience, as a bad one too. Your stuck loving OS X and can't demolish this system back to XP.

If you have a mind set of buying a MAC sometime soon, GREAT!!! If you can't afford one, BOOOOOO!!!(just stick with Windows)

I'm all about exchange of ideas but do you have anything better to say to people than:

You're poor and can't afford a MAC so you're a loser?

I mean that's basically what you said right?

Don't waste your time doing the OSx86 project, just buy the legit stuff and enjoy it?

Sucks to be you. I spent $400 on a laptop (see below) and saved $200 over a Mac Mini. PCMCIA doesn't work... yet.

Tiger 10.4.7 will last me a looooong time before I feel the need to upgrade to Leopard or anything else.

I see no cons. It's a hobby. Nobody is putting a gun to your head and asking you to do it. And it works. Enjoy while it lasts.

word to ya mutha....

Hey gang,

The reason for my Pro & Con subject was only to give newbie's insight on the whole X86Project.

My quote of the same amount as a MAC Mini is my justification of a very stable hardeware setup.

Not to mention how exhausting its been on Jas, Maxxuss(even though he's nowhere to be found) and Myzar when everyone hit's these guys up for technical support because not everyone has an understanding that MOST HARDWARE is incompatible, or @ least has a limit of functionality!!!

I'm not knocking the X86Project. I think it's AWESOME, and love hacking my hackintosh to see just how much benchmark I can squeeze out of a generic platform. I love the challenge and the GUI is *AMAZING*.

Sometimes people are taken the wrong way, however, good luck to you all that have a hand in this excellent experience.

Cheers
