sisiphus00
I've been using Mountain Lion since first developer preview and always expecting that the newer build would clear this problem. Now i am using Mountain Lion GM and it persists. I would like to know if this kind of thing, as shown on below pictures, happens to anyone? nyolc8
Do you have only one OSX on your computer? Because when I had 2 installation on separate partitions, I had two from anything in that menu.
sisiphus00
@ nyolc8: in this disk i have only ML GM installed. I have Lion installed in another disk which is ejected and a ML image on a external disk but this does not make sense...jeezzz six safaris on that menu. I really like to know what's going on before i tried the retail version, which i believe is the same build as GM.

mindlessmissy
Yeah, I sometimes get this, usually after I just restored an image backup ... But the list usually reverts back to normal after a reboot ... You can try these Terminal commands to reset the list (If you are comfortable with Terminal commands ...) cd /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/ and then type: ./lsregister -kill -domain local -domain system -domain user
