bangarang
I am planning to build the tonymacx86 "PovoMac" (http://legacy.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=49797) as my first Hacktintosh. I am looking at the parts list and I am seeing a lot of things I already own (or at least think I do). I know Hackintosh's can be finicky about parts, so my question is, what parts are "interchangeable" with what I already own? The DVD drive, will any old DVD drive do? A case is a case, so I'm not worried about that, and so is any old 320v power supply. Hard drive, I have a 250GB hard drive that is 7200 RPM. That should be fine too, correct? Thanks for the help! I didn't want to buy extra stuff if I didn't have to! Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280927-question-about-hard-drives/ Share on other sites
eep357
any SATA DVD drive is fine and same for hard drives, but if you plan on running windows too, I highly recommend having a separate drive for each Doomtree Bangarang! 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280927-question-about-hard-drives/#findComment-1836366 Share on other sites

That is what I thought, I just wanted to hear it from the experts first! I am going Mac only, (if I don't have a safety net I'll be more careful!) BANGARANG!!!! 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280927-question-about-hard-drives/#findComment-1836367 Share on other sites
