driftwood
Has anyone had any joy trying to get a 3TB drive* formatted & installed with ML GM on a single GPT partition working as a bootable internally installed SATA drive - using any kind of install method for ML GM without experiencing the usual GPT0 errors? * [ripped out of a Go Flex USB external casing - they are Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001-9YN166 drives inside] I have no problems installing this using DIgital Dreamer's excellent Hackinstaller script - however 3TB drives just will not boot with Chameleon 2.1 / latest Chimera without an alternative boot drive loading chameleon/Chim first. Drive details: Sector Sizes: 512 bytes logical, 4096 bytes physical. If anyone has managed this please tell us how. Much appreciated. eep357
ML wouldn't have anything to do with it. Unless there's been a change, I don't think chameleon has ever supported boot drives over 1tb. I've used 2 1tb drives in a striped raid, but the boot partitions are seperate so it doesn't become a 2tb drive until after loading the kext cache And I've ripped open a 3tb GoFlex too, crazy that you can get a 3tb drive cheaper that way than buying one without the usb case meant to be installed internally.
