1. After installing Acronis Disk Director, be sure to go on to install the Acronis OS Selector.

.

.

.

Install your MacOS per the instructions you are using and reboot the computer (the physical computer, not the virtual one)

.

.

.

2. When the Acronis OS Selector starts up switch to the Acronis Disk Director.

3. Select the partition and click "Change type" under "Advanced".

4. Set the type to 0xAF (ShagOS swap).

5. Save and exit.

And what the hell is "ShagOS"?

ShagOS: http://www.csh.rit.edu/~shaggy/shagos.html

As for the 0xaf trick, search for "0xaf" in the XP + OSX 10.4.4-10.4.7 native dual boot... guide.

e.g. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry126158

Specifically I'll quote myself:

In fact, AOSS did recognize [OSX], but my original one got a HFS+ error. A.D.D. showed me it's partition type had changed to 0xBF. I changed it back to 0xAF, and now [OSX is] accessible to AOSS.

Unfortunately, the HFS+ error can also be caused by other details it seems.

And unfortunately a lot of details are lost in that looong thread, and people don't use much the search engine...

I agree and you got me off in the right direction with the partition type.

But:

1. I think a lot of people don't know HOW to check the partition type. I didn't, and I thought step-by-step a post like this might make it more clear.

2. It's nice to have a post with this specific title--it will help others that may be searching.
