atka
I have a high res monitor 2560x1440 that requires dual link dvi. If i boot up the monitor just cycles power till I unplug the DVI cable and plug it back in then it works or if I wait till it sleeps then wake it up it works also. This is the same behavior you get with using a single channel cable at a high res so how do I tell osx to use dual channel on startup? Is it in chameleon or dsdt? rockinron_1
I've got a hd6850 and a hd5770 both on os x. neither will work in dual-link mode if graphics enabler is enabled. could be worth checking you've got graphics enabler set to no. failing that i couldn't help you... atka
I tried no graphics enabler with the same result. The dual link works just not on boot, I have to manually disconnect the dvi cable then connect it again. eep357
Which 5770? dual slot? 4 port or 3 port? Manufacturer will also make a difference, but I experienced same issue with a single slot, 3 port (DVI, HDMI, VGA), Diamond 5770 card, manually changing framebuffer to Hoolock (AtiConfig=Hoolock) and (AtiPorts=3) with (GraphicsEnabler=Yes) fixed it. You can try some other frame buffers like Uakari, Vervet or Eulmer (or any of the other monkeys) as well, as dual link may use 2 sense ID's for 1 port Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279446-5770-and-dual-link-dvi/#findComment-1824127 Share on other sites
atka
Fixed my issue by setting chameleon theme to my defalut resolution with chameleon wizard. Now there is no need to unplug plug in the monitor but boots right up Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279446-5770-and-dual-link-dvi/#findComment-1827223 Share on other sites
