holterdipolter
Hello everybody, first of all, my system is: CPU -> Intel Dual Core 3,6 GHz GPU -> Geforce 260 GTX Motherboard -> Asus P5LD2 SE HDD -> 160 GB IDE (would like to if this is not the problem) My problem is: i tried several different installations of iAtkos Snow Leopard 10.6.3 and Hazard 10.6.2. After an successfull installation and rebooting Snow Leo does not start. normal boot -> stuck at grey apple different options (verbose, etc.) -> black screen trying -v -f -x -> loads everthing -> black screen Anybody has an idea what the problem can be? I read through different conversations, where it was said, that it is possible to use an IDE HDD, wrong? Could that be the problem? Any help would be great. regards, holterdipolter Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277491-snow-leo-does-not-start-after-install/ Share on other sites
rlf
A black screen tells me that it is a video problem. Take a look at this: http://osx86.co/f36/guide-geforce-gtx-260-in-snow-leopard-t4057/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277491-snow-leo-does-not-start-after-install/#findComment-1808768 Share on other sites
holterdipolter
Hi rlf, thanks for your reply. The problem is i can't boot into single user mode (black screen) to move kexts, also the EFI Strings are not available anymore. Do you have another idea? regards Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277491-snow-leo-does-not-start-after-install/#findComment-1808770 Share on other sites
EvilMacMongo
if you were able to get it to install successfully all you have to do is boot back into your install dvd/usb/whatever/ and go to utilities -> Terminal you are able to move kexts around. Does it sit on a black screen or does it black screen and reboot? rlf
The problem is i can't boot into single user mode (black screen) to move kexts, Have you tried booting into single user mode (-s)? The graphics drivers should not have yet kicked in so they shouldn't affect the screen. You should still be in VESA mode. Here is a posting of someone who has used the graphic string in his Boot.plist: http://osx86.co/f87/.../post43654.html In some cases, installing a recent version of Chameleon will allow you to set GraphicsEnabler to Yes: http://www.insanelym...howtopic=231075 If you can get upgraded to 10.6.8, Nvidia has Quadro 4000 drivers that supposedly will enable the video card.
