ZenecadE
I installed IATKOS S3 10.6.3 to an internal drive. The USB 2 seems to load fine and profiler says each drive speed is up to 480MB/s BUT, simply opening a folder with numerous photos or videos in them is dreadfully slow, in some folders, over 40 seconds! When I install 10.6.2, I get MUCH higher speeds and those same folders open in under 2 seconds. The odd thing is that when I move the kexts over from 10.6.2 to 10.6.3, there is absolutely no speed changes. I can't use 10.6.2 because despite my best efforts, I cannot get CI/QE working and thus my XBMC will not function properly. Do any of you know what else I can try? Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-945GCM-s2c. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/277315-usb-2-running-at-13-speed-need-help/ Share on other sites

ZenecadE
I already tried that and there was no change in performance. Is there a way I can maybe edit the kextes to more closely match my setup? Or is it maybe something else causing the USB to run slowly? How would i go about looking for bottlenecks?
