Black SER
Running smooth as my Lion 10.7.3 Working Wi-Fi & Ethernet Full QE/CI Icloud/imessages/app Store etc... Sleep Not Working USB Card Reader For those of you who followed my Lion install. It is basically the same, but make sure to get the modified osxintall.mpkg and osinstall from besweeet's post if your going to dual boot http://www.insanelym...howtopic=276024 Create a totally seperate ##### drive and steal everything from that extra folder (it is hidden)..i mean everything dammit! Place on your new 10.8 install drive and install chameleon bootloader r1820. Upon setup you will need a USB mouse. reboot pull HD out of computer and do the same with the extra folder (#####) and install chameleon r1820 externally. Put back into computer boot up and once complete install ##### and use the PS2/Keyboard kext only. give about 5 mins after you get green check mark and right click on touchpad, but make sure to restart and disable bluetooth window. good luck only took me about 12 hours to fiqure out this stuff! DesiMaster
Hey there, I just wanted to check some things. I am about to get a z570 off a friend and am just preparing to get this done as quickly as possible. 1. Will you be trying iatkos on there? 2. Is this the guide you modified to work with ML? (http://www.insanelym...howtopic=274770) Found your other tut (http://www.insanelym...pic=272681&st=0 ) 3. If ^ is the guide you used, I presume you replaced your Wifi card to get it to work out of the box? Answered in linked tut 4. As an ex-macbook owner, I am in love with the trackpad especially for 4-finger swiping between full screen apps. How well does the trackpad work on this build and how many fingers can be sensed? 5. Have you done any stress testing? Any clue what the geekbench score is? Saw your picture (http://i.imgur.com/Z07EC.jpg ) 6. Getting into the nitty gritty, do function keys work to change lcd brightness, keyboard brightness, and volume? 7. Not sure if all z570's have the Nvidia GT-540M (which doesn't seem to have any OSX86 support), but are there any precautions you have to take to keep the system on intel 3000 graphics? 8. I haven't heard any mention of isight compatibility with the webcam, does it work with bundled software? skype? Thanks for the awesome information you're already provided! I am excited to finally return to OS X on my primary system. Fred30w
I have the same model laptop, but mine only has an Intel I5 plus an Nvidia Geforce 630m. In order to boot (after install to HD) properly, I must set bios to UMA only. I had a question about the trackpad. By default, the trackpad and keyboard work out of the box. (using #####). The only problem I have is that the trackpad is recognized as a mouse. When I boot into safe mode (-x boot option), it recognizes the trackpad properly with 2 finger scrolling. I did copy the extra folder from the ##### installation usb. (i did notice the 2 finger scrolling did not work in that install boot either). Is there any special kext I'm supposed to get? Also sleep deosn't work properly. Would you mind uploading the proper kexts that you used to enable "full" trackpad and sleep functionally please? EDIT: I did read your guide btw, but I could not find the specific kexts used other than your VoodooHDA you uploaded. (which worked great) BTW, I am getting the Atheros AR9285 you recommended. I'm not sure if you still use Windows 7, but did you lose your Wireless Display function? It doesn't bother me if I do, but I'm just curious. Black SER
WIRELESS DISPLAY FUNCTION...I DON'T BELIEVE MINE CAME WITH THAT OPTION. I rarely stop by this forum post so sorry for the delay I may include a package deal with all my kexts that I used. Let me know if this is still needed thxs Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276300-success-lenovo-z570-i7-108-mountain-lion/#findComment-1865381 Share on other sites
Fred30w
Thanks for replying! I did find everything, I just had to use the DSDT wifi from this post. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/269586-lenovo-b570/ A kext pack would still be nice though. BTW, as far as I know, the Wireless Display is part of the Intel Wifi card, so yes we both lost it. Did you ever get the card reader working? Lastly for those with the Nvidia Optimus version of this laptop, rename Geforce.kext to Geforce.kext.old to boot OS X without disabling Nvidia in bios.
