fencefry
So I was feeling pretty good through the process of installing 10.6 on my HP Mini 1000, but after the initial installation I hit a bump. When I came to the step of "fixing sound and trackpad" before upgrading to 10.6.2, I needed to access the Extensions in the Extra folder. At first I tried using Go to access it, but it couldnt find the folder. Then I manually turned on hidden files, but I still couldn't find the folder. Any ideas? I even chose a few files like com.apple.boot.plist that is suppopsed to be in there, but nothing showed upon spotlight. westwaerts
Extra Folder is up to you to create one. ( here we put the kexts for "our" Mac, mainly that they are not swept away with a system update) and go for kextutility to repair permissions, rebuild kextcaches, ( kexts without the right permissions are not loaded at system start) Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275800-extra-file-seemingly-nonexistant/#findComment-1795692 Share on other sites
Foxic
This should be the structure of your /Extra folder. /Extra - /Extensions - /Themes - org.chameleon.Boot.plist - smbios.plist - Extensions.mkext Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275800-extra-file-seemingly-nonexistant/#findComment-1795763 Share on other sites
