moddeydhoo
I have GA H67M-D2-B3, i5, GT440 and 4Gb kingston. Probably a stupid question but how do I get the MB to boot off a USB? Tried f12 and selecting USB/DVD. Changed the Bios boot priority but no luck at all. An idiots guide would be good. Trying to install Lion. Also do I have to install Leopard first and then follow an upgrade through to Lion? Sorry but totally new to Mac. xx66stangxx
There should be a boot loader on the USB that you created. That's how you boot off of the USB. You don't need to install snow leopard first but you will need a snow leopard install/machine to purchase lion and create a bootable Lion USB. moddeydhoo
Thanks, I use ##### on a DVD no problem but if I copy ##### do a USB it doesnt seem to work. On the start up screen it says that HDD and VD/DVD are only supported on boot. Gringo Vermelho
You can't just copy the contents of the CD to the flash drive and expect that to work. Read here why: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Boot_sector You need to find out whether your motherboard can boot from a USB flash drive or not. Use google to find the "HP USB Disk storage format tool" and required DOS system files (it's all over the internet, very easy to find), then use it to create a bootable USB flash drive on any Windows PC. It's just one click. This should boot into an old skool DOS prompt on your PC. If this works, a USB flash drive with the Chameleon boot loader on it will work too.
