Going to give this a shot again. I have never had much luck installing OSX on my PC at all. First things first, I have Windows currently installed and I have everything backed up but to be honest I'd like to keep my Windows installion if possible incase I screw up, I don't want to start over and re-install Windows I would just like to be able to go back into it like it never happened.

My PC specs are:

GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 mobo

Intel i5 2500K

Nvidia Geforce 460GTX

1TB Seagate HDD

Before I go into the installion I set the mode to ACHI and the installer will boot up fine and install.

Looking back through my last posts I saw that I had a PCI Configuration Begin Error which I had to run npci=0x2000 with iAtkos L1 but booting up L2 it was fine. I also saw theres an option for an error like that in the installation, should I be checking that off?

I see from tutorials that I should pretty much leave whats checked off alone and then pretty much just add in my drivers.

I highlighted what I THINK I should be checking off with my specs, can someone varify for me?

And lastly, like I said I would like to keep my Windows 7 install, would I create a partition for OSX in Windows and then install it there? How would I make the dual-boot completely work after that?

Where is your dsdt.aml, org.chameleon.Boot.plist, smbios.plist, ?

Until you figure out what setting you need I would take it step by step and check out by searching the org.chameleon.Boot.plist, and smbios.plist you need to find the correct setting

Seems you would do a lot better doing the install Vanilla and setting up a USB installer with Lion and the correct pieces needed for your board/chip/graphics and peripherals.

The dsdt.aml I can get from Tonymac correct? As for the org.chameleon.boot.plist and smbios.plist I haven't seen much on them so I'm not too sure.

And why would you recommend vanilla? I don't have access to a USB installer either unfortunately.

Yes, you can create one using an external Hard Disk with a small patrician as a boot

This can be done using other methods... Here's in VM without ever using a Mac or Hackintosh

I even made a tutorial on it somewhere here on insanelymac.

The link above works great but that requires a working OS X but thats possible in a full Windows environment.

Either way you go about it, consider it is a learning curve.

The reason for Vanilla you then understand whats been done and why!

My example of what the gut of the installer looks like:

I can be patient and guide you or you can learn by searching.

See Im also building an i5 using your similar motherboard with my HD4850 as you have a GTX460.

Thanks for the post there. I actually installed iAtkos L2 last night and I have it up and running. Eithernet and sound worked off the bat, then I used ##### and installed video drivers and everything seems to be working right now except sleep.

Does MAC allow you to use Mouse 3 click and scroll up and down or is it just me?

And I'll start to take a look around but the only thing I don't have working now is sleep, are there any fixes around?

Lastly I was trying to install a dsdt.aml which I placed on my desktop and ##### kept failing installation when I checked the Userdsdt off.

You, can simply drag and drop the dsdt.aml and also be specific to where its at

This is in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist

<key>DSDT</key>
<string>/Extra/dsdt.aml</string>

For sleep to work you need to have everything in native apple powermanagment a look over and have the correct edits in your dsdt.aml

On the mouse thing... duno

I went back to Windows for a bit but have a couple questions after I had everything running okay.

Something I noticed which bothered the hell out of me was when I was tracking through with the mouse I noticed around the exit, minimize and fullscreen buttons the mouse would slow down and almost kind of lock itself on them. I played with a Mac today in stores and noticed it was not doing any of that and the mouse acceleration didn't seem terrible like it was on mine. Any ideas?

And when trying to repair my Windows bootloader to get back in and add a dual boot, it couldn't find any Windows installations on the computer, only the D drive which of course was the windows recovery cd I had in the tray.
