CptanPanic
Hello, I have followed various online instructions, even ones here on how to get Time Machine to work over network to my ubuntu machine. I created the sparsebundle and such, but the problem is the drive does not show up in the select disk chooser of time machine. I am using Lion, and I can browse directory using finder, but not in time machine. Any ideas? Thanks. aikidoka25
I remember read somewhere that Lion TM uses a higher protocol which renders network TM unusable. That what happened with my backup on DNS-323. So I resolve to external firewire hdd connected directly to the unit. I also read that, if you could upgrade the protocol on the network machine, you could make it usable again, but I didn't bother to check if that upgrade available for DNS-323. CptanPanic
I am using the latest version of netatalk 2.2b4 which supposedly added support for Lion for AFS. CptanPanic
I found the problem, in the share listing in AppleVolumes.default there is a tm option to enable timemachime on the volume.
