Gringo Vermelho
Using the right model identifier is very important, OS X loads CPU profile and power management configuration for both your CPU and video card depending on which model identifier you use. For better compatibility with your laptop, you should be using a MacBookPro model identifier. Not sure how to change the "About this Mac" info, I believe there is an xml file somewhere you can edit. Keep looking, this has been done before.

gothic860
Thanks for your replays, but http://www.insanelym...howtopic=272406 is only for changing the smbios stuff (i want to keep the MacPro5,1 Model, i just want to change the text for it). I was able to change the picture in: /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources And in /Applications/Utilities/System Information.app/Contents/Resources/German.lproj/SPInfo.strings i can change the "MAC_MODEL" but it takes no effect. I think smbios is the only way .
