Kernal Panic / No Sound

First off, I had no sound, so I started doing some of the things people mentioned that worked from them. After restarting I get a kernal panic and wont boot up anymore. Can I fix this or do I have to reinstall it again? I can get it to boot up with "-x" I tried to put back everything I changed but still get kernal panic.

Also, like I said I have RealTek HD ALC880 onboard sound that will not work... If any one can help me out with that it would be great. Thanks.

boot -v -f -s and when you get the root prompt type

mount -uw /

next

rm -R /system/library/extensions/thesoundkextyourmodified.kext

( where thesoundkextyourmodified.kext is the nake of the kext you modified )

then type exit and exit again and it should boot up fine

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey, I'm having real trouble findingh the torrent for JaS 10.4.7 Intel/AMD DVD Install.... If anyone has it, I would be happy to host it (and anything else - within reason) on a 100mbit .us server I have.

Thinking about it - as long as that's legal! I'm not sure :)

But anyway, I NEED that image! I've got 10.4.1 going on 2 laptops, triple booting with WinXP, SuSe10.1 and OSX... I'm thinking Vista RC1 next ;o)

Any help with that 10.4.7 img would be great....demonoid you can only join at the weekend! :o(

Thanks in advance....
