fobstar
hey all...i just download the file Apple.OS.X.x86.10.4.Generic.Install.DVD from one of the sites... so i burnt the iso marklar-tiger.iso that was in it and popped it into my dvd-rom drive and restarted my comp..... now it boots into darwin and asks if i want to install mac os or press f8 for more options...i pressed more options and it asked me to choose a drive. NOW there was only one drive there... should it be like that? i already have a logical ntfs partition (15 g) just for mac.... so is it suppose to be like that? p.s also if i press -v it does all this checking and stuff and then pauses and says 'WAITING FOR ROOT DEVICE" so please help btw... my info compaq presario amd 3500+ SSE2, ati radeon 200M 128mb dedicated mem, 512 mb, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2726-please-help/ Share on other sites

MoldyBread
I have this version, installed it, but when I go to start, it says I need to restart. If I start in -x, it works, but who wants to be in safe mode LOL. Also I need a fix for my audio (realtekALC850) and internet (Marvell yukon on P4P800 SE). I have a P4 with sse 1, 2, 3. pc_guru
...'WAITING FOR ROOT DEVICE"... Hmmmm, reading the "READ_THIS_FIRST.rtf" document : If you get "waiting on root device" errors, it's ATA/SATA controller related. Search the forums at www.osx86project.org or www.360hacker.net or www.win2osx.net for possible fixes that others have had success with. YMMV. You can see than that is an ATA/SATA driver trouble, maybe your hardware not matching with the Hardware Requirements, or maybe is another trouble linked with those drivers. I hope than other user with more experience could help you. Good luck !!.
