tempypoo
Hi guys, Need some assistance with terminal. I am trying to delete my sleepimage file from /private/var/vm through terminal which I loaded from the OS X setup but I am having problems. It will boot up with -bash-3.2# and from what I understand as it is running from the DVD I need to change it to read from my HDD so I type cd "/volumes/OS X". Now I try to navigate to /private/var/vm but it does not allow me to do so as it says the vm folder does not exist. Am I doing something wrong? It seems like it keeps reverting back to the DVD root... If anyone can tell me the correct commands to get this file deleted it would be much appreciated. Cheers
Foxic
Can you boot into single user mode from the HDD to do this or are you completely locked out? Boot with -s to enter single user mode
tempypoo
Cannot boot into single user. I get the error "hibernate image files too old" when I try to boot normally and when I try to boot using any command it just gets to a point and freezes... Gringo Vermelho
Boot with Wake=n...or wake=n...not sure if it needs to be capitalized or not. This will bypass waking from S4. Once you're in do sudo pmset -g hibernatemode 0 to disable hibernation. do man pmset for more information.
tempypoo
Tried to do that too but it seems to accept it and then just freeze. Looks like I'll have to reinstall...
