jimmyvau
I've been working on this for almost 4 days and have almost gotten to the point of going back to Snow Leopard. I know my hardware will work because there are a bunch of other people on these forums that have gotten it to work just fine. I can get audio and LAN working, but video is eluding me. In order to boot I have to remove ATIRadeon4800Controller.kext and boot with GraphicsEnabler=No. Using netkas' 10.7.2 QE Exotic patch causes a panic no matter what I do. I found a QE patch on OSx86.net and that so far has provided me with the best results. I am using a custom DSDT that I made with DSDT auto patcher. I have tried to use the DSDT provided in the Lionize thread, but I get the same results. Also I am using the ALC8xx and AppleHDAudio kexts from the latest #####. In order to get networking support, all I had to do was edit the Info.plist in AppleYukon2.kext. I know that LAN and audio work because if I remove ATIRadeon4800Controller.kext and boot with GraphicsEnabler=No the system will boot. My machine id is MacPro 4,1 and the SMBoardproduct is Mac-F221BEC8. I'm using chameleon 2.0 r1393 This is what happens when GraphicsEnabler=No and I have the 4800controller kext installed This is what happens when GraphicsEnabler=Yes and the kext is installed Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/272253-new-lion-install-will-not-boot/ Share on other sites
MTWomg
Use 3,1. It actually matters. Though that won't fix your problem. You need a card that is natively supported. dc124
Did you upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion? If you did, you are liable to get such outcomes. Avoid the habit of using Graphics Enabler. An OS X update might break the enabler. OS X v10.7 is a lot friendlier than v10.6. My install was easier with Lion. I made a USB install coupled with chameleon with only fake SMC, Apple PS2 and NVEnabler and it all worked out of the box except sound. I later added Evoreboot because of the rare shutdown issues I was facing. v10.7's only disadvantage over v.10.6 is the speed and agility. Make your own custom USB and avoid the online installers. Note, the two files you will need are chameleon and fake smc.
