Hello,

This is my first time trying to sucessfully install OSX86 (I downloaded IAtkos a couple of years ago and it didn't work, got the ACPI error) on my old Celeron PC. I took a look at the #####, but its for systems taht already have OSX installed. Here are my Specs:

P8H67M-LE

i5 2500K

8 GB DDR3 1333MHZ

Powercolor 6770, Overclocked

320 GB Hard Drive, 150 GB free

15" Dell LCD monitor from 13 years ago

520 Watt PSU

I have an 8GB SD card, and a 4 GB USB drive, I don't have an optical drive, as I thought it would be useless.

Things you might want to know:

-I don't have any Macs in the house, nor any other Apple products (My Nano broke, won't boot, stupic piece of junk)

- Huge Ubuntu fan, would have used it if it supported WPA2 on my wireless internet. So now I am using ICS on Windows 7.

- I have an UEFI bios, with protection that can recover if the bios is wiped out.

So, how do I go about installing OSX86 on my PC via USB?

What Distro should I use?

Should/Can I use VMware or Virtualbox instead?

How do I go about installing?

How much HDD space is required?

Thanks guys!

Do a search in regards to your motherboard and see if there is a guide for your motherboard series. If there is then that will be of a benefit for you. In regards of how to install check out tonymacx86 he has a guide on how to install with a USB for lion. And like I said above if there is a guide for your motherboard then use that one because the packager will include all the right kexts for your motherboard to get everything to work natively. I've been out of the loop for a while now so I don't know much about distros. But you will need to purchase the OS.

install iDeneb on a USB key, it really shouldn't be much of a problem, then install Lion from there. that way you will have a Mac to work from ;) i'd advise iDeneb 10.5.6, since it's the one i've found easiest. you'll need to make a partition for OS x on your existing hard drive. 100 GB should suffice until you realise you don't want any other OS :D

How do I install it on a USB key? Do I use Transmac? I'm using iAtkos L1 for "testing purposes" and then if it works well, I will purchase Lion. As for Partition, I have set aside 30 GB labled OSX and formatted NTFS. Lmao, iDeneb sounds like it has lots of support for AMD processors!

Deneb is the codename for the AMD Phenom X4 Black Edition Processors (945,955,965)

UPDATE: I tried the transmac with an SD card and nothing would show up after BIOS. I'm assuming it won't read te SD card through the card reader. Is there something under 4gb I can use and then upgrade later with OSX on my PC?

Yes you need to search these forums and find the instructions on making a bootable USB drive and then you will be fine. Also you need to make your own DSDT file with edits tailored to your motherboard and system specs.
