kenkenc
Hi there, Running a Asus P5K-E WIFI Intel Q6600 2.4 Quad 3GB DDR 2 @800 60GB SSD EVGA 8800GTS Installed iAtkos L1 Lion Everything is working good except when I play music.. certain songs espcially when their is lots of bass and treble I hear popping a cracking. I made sure it was not the motherboard by trying the front and back panel. I removed all the kexts in my extension folder so I had no sound... tried to instal 883 / AppleHDA but it would not let me (maybe because i'm running 64bit?) Anyways the only way I could restore my sound is when I re installed the original VoodoHDA.kext I deleted in the first place any thoughts ? Gringo Vermelho
One thing that can cause crackling and skipping sound is having working native power management + IRQ conflicts. Go to the Project OSX forums and find a thread titled "fix for slow SATA" or words to that effect. Apply the fixes from the first post in that thread to your DSDT. kenkenc
I actually deleted the old VoodooHDA and did a search for a 64bit one and used kext wizard. Seems to have done the trick, cracking noise stopped.
