rhalls
I have a well running OSX86 10.4.7. on an AMD X2 4200+, MSI Board, ATI 9600 (mouse tearing). Done with Goatsec 10.4.6, JAS 10.4.7 patches. I have NO chance to get a bootable backup. I used: - CarbonCopyCloner 2.3 on the OSX86 - TriBackup 4.01 on the OSX86 - Restore with Apple DiscUtils on OSX86 and finally Carbon Copy Cloner on my mac, with the boot disk and the backup disk both mounted in FireWire Drives. Nope. The backup wont boot. Its not recognized as a bootable Harddrive. I tried another Harddrive, too. Formated with apples DiskUtils. Any suggestions ? Bart86
which version of apple disk utility did you format the backup drive with. When I first got started I strugged to get my drive to be bootable and nothing worked until I used the 10.4.5 version of Disk Util to format and partition the drive. Obviously the key is getting the MBR and partition bootable, then I think you'll have better luck with ccc or the others.
