Hey guys, great forum you've got going here and the amount of help one can recieve here is amazing (though there are those quiet threads where questions havent been answered for months if not years). But anyways on to my question:

I've ALWAYS been interested in creating a hackintosh but have always been unlucky in terms of hardware. My old computer had an AMD Processor in it and now my laptop (this one ASUS G53Jw-A1 with 8GB RAM) is too precious to lose data on. I got an extra HDD installed just for Hackintoshes but I'm too much of a wuss to actually install it.

A friend forced me into trying virtual machines and hence I've got VMWare Workstation 8. I've watched many tutorials in the past on how to install these but never tried them out = waste of time. Overall, I didnt have a problem till the installation. These were my steps.

1) Set up VMWare with 2 GB RAM, 4 Cores, 20GB HDD and used iAtkos S3 V2

2) Launched machine.

3) Pressed F8 and typed the following: -v cpus=1 busratio=12 maxmem=2048

4) Installation language came up. Chose English and proceeded.

5) Opened up Disk Utility and created one partition. Named it MacOSX and chose Mac OSX Journaled (the default one).

6) Chose a GUID table thingy.

7) Partitioned.

8) Closed Disk Utility and proceeded with the installation and got the successful install message.

9) Machine reboots and I have the following error: 'cant find mach_kernel'

This is where I'm stuck and really need help going past it. I've found ONE helpful thread but I dont know how to make it work in my case. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...33039&st=40

Please help if you can! Thanks a lot :D

Seems like nobody's interested. I've uploaded a video of me trying #####.

Hoping this embeds into the forum.. the video description says the following:

Hi guys, this is me showing you the problem I'm currently facing when I'm rebooting after installing Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 (iAtkos S3 V2) on VMWAre.

The error is 'Cant find mach_kernel'. I thought if I could use ##### and try fix it but nothing really happens.. infact with ##### loaded, I can go over to the MacOSXHD drive and type -v -x cpus=1 busratio=12 maxmem=2048. It proceeds but crashes later at that point.

Hopefully someone can help, thanks!

EDIT:

Still worried nobody's replied yet. This is the last few lines before the OS in VMWare crashes:

I didnt mean to say what he said was wrong.. I was just hoping there would still be a way to fix this. I've read about the unlockers but I havent dwelled into it as much as I thought it was only if you had older versions of VMWare. I'm sorry for that.

Well I cant really spend much this month, I'll buy it early november ;)
