ATI Mobility Radeon 5650 - Stuck at 16bit? Need Help!

Hi,

i try to get Lion working on my Envy 14-1195ez.

I have a almost perfectly working system but my Graphics are stuck at 16bit it seems.

 

I used this method to get the notebook graphics working:

(modified Chameleon 1331 boot file, GraphicsEnabler=Yes AtiConfig=Hoolock )

 

Acceleration and everything works (Full Resolution etc) but like i said only 16bit. There is no Option in Displays Preferences to change this. "System Profiler" it tells me 32bit but it is clearly visible that this is not true. (no smooth transition in the Launchpad Background for example)

 

When i boot without GraphicsEnabler with only GraphicsMode=1366x768x32 i get true 32bit, but no acceleration.

 

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? I want to use this notebook for semi-professional graphicdesign and with only 16bit its really unuseable for that.

UPDATE:

 

Ok tried SwitchResX to change Color depth.

it shows 2 Options 32K and 16,7mio.

16,7 is standard and 32K is naturally even worse.

 

Im no expert but isnt 16,7 standard? then why is it not fully working.
