Safari 5.1 "Can't display this webpage" page reload problem

Hey Guys,

Safari keeps having a reload problem when trying to load a website. http://www.myradon.nl. It's showing the entire page without javascript (jQuery) and Cufon (font-replacement) applied then is reloading the page 3 to 4 times and then the message safari can't display this webpage. safari has repeadetly encountered an error while trying to display "http://www.myradon.nl/".

I've run into this problem with 10.7.2 Dev, VGA with EFI-string and Flash on Lion, so I thought "okay completely new clean install of Lion" on my EP45-UD3R with Cartri's patched BIOS v0.8.

config;

 • kakewalk install with ##### and removed kexts in /E/E (only FakeSMC and Realtek I assume in /S/L/E/)
 • Chimera 1.5.4 (I used Chimera 'cause of Chameleon-branches confusion/nightmare)
 • org.chameleon.Boot.plist --> Graphics enabler=Yes, PciRoot=1
 • updated to 10.7.1 with extra updates
 • no Flash installed or any other plugins. No software installed
 • no DSDT.aml (causing 8800GTS 640MB not being regonized properly with QE/QL)

the same configuration (plist, Chimera, no flash,...) in clean installed SL fully updated to 10.6.8 and no extra's doesn't produce this odd Safari 5.1 behavior. Version Safari on SL is 5.1 (6534.50) and on Lion is 5.1 (7534.48.3).

I can't find anything useful in this forum, tonymac's or Google. Anybody know a solution? I've also included the Crash Report and a Screenshot of the error.

[edit] By the way I checked the website on a iMac running lion and no problemo.

Hello Jam, I also had problems with my Safari version on Leopard, I upgrade via Apple Update but still dint worked good. It used to crash while loading pages. The advice I can give you is to use Camino web browser, its really stable and its freeware. The appearance is also great, nothing to envy to Safari, after downloading and copying to your dock you can drag it to your Dock and have it like a Native Browser. Hope this Helps! Peace in Christ of Nazareth!

hi jam,

same problem here. it's the graphic card (8800) but don't have any solution.

try to load lion without graphic drivers or efistrings. you will have no flash and reload problems.

here is a solution. but doesn't work for me. got errors in photoshop etc.

let me know if there is a solution. don't want to use google chrome or other browser.

Hey guys, I'm using this system for UI-design (Photoshop/ Illustrator) and front-end development. It's essential all browsers work without a glitch. I rolled back to SL till there is a working solution.

@rocccky: correct me if I'm wrong, isn't that post about flash related problems and 8800-cards? I didn't have flash installed on Lion.
