1. I've got a question concerning patching my Sapphire ATI 5770 with Vervet personality? 2nd screen has loads of artifacts after (re)booting. When I reconnect or fiddle with screen-resolutions artfiacts are gone. After reboot bam {censored} again. I followed Alexander's [Guide] Getting XFX HD6850 connectors to work to the letter, i mean I believe I did but doesn't help for 2nd screen artifacts. I did connector-patching in Clover bootloader confg.plist. I didn't alter HDMI and DP connector-IDs, only DVI's where not okay. I tried PCIRootUID=0/1, GraphicsInjector=Yes/No, FBName=Vervet is in. I also tried boot-args=WithKexts to be sure kext will be patched. I'm out of ideas Anyone got some real intelligent remark ?!
2. You know what? I flashed my Sapphire in windows and patched according to this guide http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/978894-pc-ati-57705870-cards-flashed-to-work-with-mac-pro/ I was so fed up with these glitches. Also set my default company-ID to 0x1002 with RBE. I deleted all entries in org.chameleon.Boot.plist so it looks like this; <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1200x32</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>SystemType</key> <string>1</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>2</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> No GraphicsEnabler, no framebuffer, no atiports. Card is still recognized as a ATI 5000 BUT what did the trick was just disable hardware Acceleration in Flash Player. Now Youtube movies don't trigger these artifacts on my second screen. I'm going to fiddle a bit more to see if I can get my card to be recognized as 5770 and I'm really happy.
3. Yeps with GE=yes. Do you recommend without and some other solution? I'm digging through others options and stumbled on the DSDT-way. Maybe that will work but the "ATI HD 5770"-topic is like 58 pages long It also appears changing these framebuffers also affect my keyboard-function and shtudown-function; for some reason shutdown is now log off <key>AtiConfig</key> <string>Vervet</string> <key>AtiPorts</key> <string>4</string> vervet solves shutdown= logout! How can framebuffer be the cause?! GrapchisEnabler=No also works with Vervet only not properly recognized; Chipset Model ATI Radeon HD 5000. Still same glitches on secondary screen
4. <key>AtiConfig</key> <string>Uakari</string> <key>AtiPorts</key> <string>4</string> Is this. Youtube with Flash player Stripe/glitch now moved to the second screen when skipping in movie. It doesn't matter if I use DP and DVI or 2x DVI still same artifacts on second screen.
5. Quicktime and flash are both GPU-accelerated aren't they? VLC-player playing a FLV-file doesn't give these glitches. Okay going to try that tomorrow. Now going to watch Soccer we, holland, still got a small change to 1/4th.
6. @eep357 My bad; it's a 4 port dual-slot card. It has 2 DVI's, 1 HDMI and 1 DP.
7. My hackintosh is suffering from a artifacts/ a horizontal line (shifted display) at the bottom of the page of the secondary display when starting to display Adobe Flash in the browser eg. at Youtube or displaying Quicktime-App in OS X Lion 10.7.4. Only system definition MacPro 3,1 doesn't have this problem. I want to have multiple P-states that's why I'm not using MP3,1. <key>AtiConfig</key><string>Vervet</string> in org.chameleon.Boot.plist. 5770 and vidcard is recognized as a 5770 in System Report. Tried also stability of 5770 in Lion --> 5 hours of Unigine-Heaven-3.0 Demo no problemo. I've tried System definition iMac 12,2, Macmini 5,3, Macmini 5,1 and removed AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext from S/L/E still suffering from the odd line. sound is terrible. SD iMac 12,2 altered S/L/E IOPPlatformPluginFamily.kext --> ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext to Macbook Pro 8,3 for P-states still suffering line I thought "well OK try my Asus nVidia 9400GT passive!" Installed it with SD iMac12,2 and bammm.... no glithces, artifacts or line when playing Youtube movie or using Quicktime-App. Only performance is not okay. Scrolling in Browser is choppy, Hardware Acceleration in Photoshop CS5.5 is choppy. Digging through topics here, at Tony's Forum or even Google doesn't help me much ;-( What do I overlook guys?
8. MSRDumper

In my previous post I wrote my Hackintosh, with Mac Pro 3,1 system definition, doesn't output any PStatesReached in kernel.log. 9. MSRDumper

I'm reading this topic cause of not getting the PStatesReached output with my Gigabyte Z68MX-UD2H-B3 F12-bios/EFI Mobo and 2500K. When I load MSRDumper on my real iMac 12,2 @work it outputs PStates BUT with an issue as stated urlier on this topic, only; May 29 09:06:04 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper PStatesReached: 16 32 33 34 May 29 09:06:04 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper CoreMulti(16) May 29 09:06:04 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper PStatesReached: 16 32 33 34 May 29 09:06:05 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper CoreMulti(16) May 29 09:06:05 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper PStatesReached: 16 32 33 34 May 29 09:06:05 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper CoreMulti(16) May 29 09:06:05 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper PStatesReached: 16 32 33 34 May 29 09:06:06 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper CoreMulti(16) May 29 09:06:06 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper PStatesReached: 16 32 33 34 May 29 09:06:06 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper CoreMulti(16) May 29 09:06:06 rupc kernel[0]: MSRDumper PStatesReached: 16 32 33 34 Probably 31 Multi will pop if will have a 100% load on all 4 cores but didn't try that. Why doesn't my Hackintosh output PStatesReached? (Install: Chimera, plist: generate C and P-states, using patched OC-SSDT from "a banned-word" and patched DSDT from tonymacx86's DSDT-database)
10. Hey guys, I'm using this system for UI-design (Photoshop/ Illustrator) and front-end development. It's essential all browsers work without a glitch. I rolled back to SL till there is a working solution. @rocccky: correct me if I'm wrong, isn't that post about flash related problems and 8800-cards? I didn't have flash installed on Lion.
11. Hey Guys, Safari keeps having a reload problem when trying to load a website. http://www.myradon.nl. It's showing the entire page without javascript (jQuery) and Cufon (font-replacement) applied then is reloading the page 3 to 4 times and then the message safari can't display this webpage. safari has repeadetly encountered an error while trying to display "http://www.myradon.nl/". I've run into this problem with 10.7.2 Dev, VGA with EFI-string and Flash on Lion, so I thought "okay completely new clean install of Lion" on my EP45-UD3R with Cartri's patched BIOS v0.8. config; kakewalk install with ##### and removed kexts in /E/E (only FakeSMC and Realtek I assume in /S/L/E/) Chimera 1.5.4 (I used Chimera 'cause of Chameleon-branches confusion/nightmare) org.chameleon.Boot.plist --> Graphics enabler=Yes, PciRoot=1 updated to 10.7.1 with extra updates no Flash installed or any other plugins. No software installed no DSDT.aml (causing 8800GTS 640MB not being regonized properly with QE/QL) the same configuration (plist, Chimera, no flash,...) in clean installed SL fully updated to 10.6.8 and no extra's doesn't produce this odd Safari 5.1 behavior. Version Safari on SL is 5.1 (6534.50) and on Lion is 5.1 (7534.48.3). I can't find anything useful in this forum, tonymac's or Google. Anybody know a solution? I've also included the Crash Report and a Screenshot of the error. [edit] By the way I checked the website on a iMac running lion and no problemo. safari_Crash_Report.rtf
12. 8800GT no go

I've got exactly the same thing with my 8800GTS 640MB with EFI-string. I included vcard-id to NVDANV50.kext and then rebuild mkext's Also got Safari reloads page few times and then boom "page can't be loaded yadayadayada" I read Flash also got major problems with real mac's running Lion. Tried the Flash Player 11b2 same problem but oddly Chrome shows version 10.3.
13. Works like a Charm! Thanx Tseug! Only had to set GraphicsEnabler=No, deleted 2 nVidia-kexts in S/L/E and add EFI-string of my 8800GTS 320MB to org.chameleon.Boot.plist. Sound no problem with installing good old Audigy2ZS-card. Can't believe this card still works in Lion. Updated USB-stick to Chameleon RC5 VS r1135 because USB-stick wouldn't go through POST; bootloader problem. I have GA-EP45-UD3R motherboard with Carti-Bios. I don't need or use any DSDT-file. Only had some problem with Logitech LCC Software because it's not Lion compatible. Work-around open content of package and install through mpkg in there!
14. I've got exactly the same problem I have a 8800GTS 320MB, which runs from Leopard 10.5.X without any problem. I don't get this problem. What's causing this?!
15. Do you mean your Fresh OS X Lion USB installer doesn't boot? I've got a EP45-UD3R with Cartri Bios v0.8 but I can't boot from USB anymore. Thought "Well okay someting wrong with stick!" so did Mald0n's procedure again on different stick. Same problem; my system won't go through POST. It sticks in first screen with initializing of Memory. Formatted one of the OS X Lion sticks with Disk-Utility and inserted it; System POSTs; It most be something with the files/ procedure/ Chameleon bootloader. By the way removed P- and C-state entries in boot.plist in /Extra. Cartri-bios don't need them right?! EDIT; It's the Chameleon bootloader. I asume version r1003 is used. I've manually updated install method from Tseug (very easy) to Chameleon RC5 VS r1135 in CLI and USB-stick boots fine. I'm installing Lion as we speak on test-partition. Had to add EFI-string of my 8800GTS and GraphicsEnabler=No to get it working; that's been a while Be aware this version of chameleon changes com.apple.Boot.plist to org.chameleon.Boot.plist.
