platinumsteel
Hi guys do u all know what's the correct command that I would need to try in order to enable graphics accleration for my asus g51j geforce GTS 360M using the New Nawcom boot disc?I have succesfully installed Mac OSX leopard 10.6.3 and the only thing that allows me to boot into Mac partition is the Nawcom disc....Chamelon just restarts my computer in a loop...I have tried all other versions of chamelon even Asereblon and the same thing happens....If i could get Graphics accelerated I would be good to go..thank you. Gringo Vermelho
AFAIK the Nawcom boot CD is Chameleon. The nawcom CD works with your hardware because it happens to have the right set of kernel extensions and configuration settings. The next step on your Hackintosh journey is to discover what those are, so that you can install Chameleon to your hard drive and make it work in the same way. Do some research and don't be afraid to experiment, you will still be able to boot with the nawcom CD if anything goes wrong. You must install the Nvidia Quadro 4000 drivers for your video card to work. The nvidia drivers that ship with Snow Leopard have no Fermi architecture support. Make sure to check the minimum requirements before downloading. For example, the latest version of the Quadro 4000 drivers will only work with 10.6.8 so if you can't update, you'll need to find an older version. platinumsteel
I told u that you are the main man !!!! You brought up and old feeling within when u said dat do some research and not being afraid to experiment....You would never believe that since febuary 10th this year my journey to install Mac OSX leopard with almost everything working have never materialised until today..just typing this is making tears run out my eyes cause this journey is the greatest challenge i ever experienced in life with computers...What i did was went looking all over for an older Quadro driver for mac all over the net..only was able to find an old one but required 10.6.6..to install it..I had the 10.6.6 Combo update backed up..so decided this time to update to 10.6.6 as i did 100 times before and failed..So i fired up ##### again and ran the combo update and ran mutltibeast but i just selected ##### and kext rebuilding...And when i restarted instead of depending on chamelon i booted with the nawcom cd since u said dat it has all the correct configurations..And i almost wet my pants...i went into about MAC and saw for the first time 10.6.6..well with that I got extremly confident..and decided to try 10.6.8..I did the same thing open ##### open up the combo 10.6.8 install dat then run ##### again using the same settings...and it installed succesfully then i restart and tried to use the nawcom boot cd but it started loading and stopped at some point..well just before i was going to cry..a gut feeling told me to see if chamelon would work..so i restarted and let chamelon run without touching anything and it went to a grey screen with apple logo and no activity atold..i gave it like 3 mins then just as i was about to hold down the power button it just switched to a blue screen and started loading and BAM MAC OSX 10.6.8 booted up with graphics accleration and all my resolutions available to me!!!!!...Best time of my life..then i decided to check the sound and low and behold for the first time the sound was working...OMG..Only ting that didn't pop in was the wireless..i would really like to get that working along with the micophone feedback i get from the sound output.....But I would do some more digging up and attend to that later...Right now u know what I am thinking?Yes u are right I am going for MAC OSX Lion install....I have a couple guides i am going to follow and never give up....Since i know what to do to get back to 10.6.8 all hell has broken lose now..I am going to do the world of experimenting until i get Lion installed.....I really wish i could pay u man for helping me hurdle over this stumbling block..but am broken ....But thanks million man...Going after lion thanks to u. Gringo Vermelho
LOL good for you. I know what that feels like. If you buy Lion from the app store (and you don't want to just run the installer and update right away) there are ways to make an install DVD out of the files. For example Lion Cache Cleaner (works fine on Snow Leopard) can do that for you. If you can boot 10.6.8 with your present Chameleon configuration, then you can very likely also boot Lion. Now that you have a configuration that works, you should make your own Chameleon boot CD or bootable USB flash drive replicating your existing Chameleon install. Look for my boot CD guide over at the VoodooProjects forum.
