Crabhunter
has anyone else found that when windows is on a seperate hard drive after a while it becomes unbootable. I have been running Lion on its own HD for a while, reconnected my windows HD which I could duel boot from chameleon but after about a week I can no longer boot windows. This has happend to me in the past and I now usually reach into my open case and plug in whichever HD I want to boot. Mike
saltdos
I also run OS X Lion on it's own HDD. I've been running it alongside two NTFS HDDs (one with a Windows installation and other with data) for about a week. I've had no issues with any hard drives. Noam AA
if you have windows installed on other hard drive, then why not use it's OWN boot loader? why chameleon the biggest upside in installing OS's on other hard drive, is keeping it's own boot loader and not messing with unstable Duel-Boot, and booting it from the BIOS boot menu. Crabhunter
if you have windows installed on other hard drive, then why not use it's OWN boot loader? Just so that I dont have to hit F12 and select a hard drive, It booted several times fine but now seems to have the click of death. Over the years this is the 3rd Windows hd that has gone down, I have never lost an osx or Linux HD. I just have this feeling osx kills windows HDs. Maybe I'm just unlucky. Noam AA
yes but otherwise you hit the keyboard to select windows/osx/linux don't you? and, just to be clear, i mention that point for you to try out, and see if the drive really dead are you seeing the files on the osx side? what happened to the drive? does it removed completely? or it even can't be mounted?
