Hi! (To skip text, scroll down for the bullets)

I want to build a new computer sometime soon, and I have been thinking of making a Hackintosh

(similar to this one http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2010/10/how-t...ht-easy-steps/) except a lot faster and better.

But the thing is, I am pretty retarded with this stuff. I do not know what goes with what.

I would appreciate it if someone would lend a hand. To give you an idea of what I am aiming for here are...

...some of the applications I aim to use:

Final Cut Studio

Adobe After Effects

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Illustration

etc.

Also I would like to have the possibility to play video games,

but if I would have to dismiss that for better performance, that would be just fine.

  • Budget: Within 2000$
  • RAM: At least 6-8GB RAM
  • Hard Drive: At least 2TB
  • Video Card: Something very decent
  • Motherboard: Something very decent
  • Processor: Intel i7 (What kind of i7 or perhaps Xeon?)

All help would be very well appreciated! :):)

P.S.

What kind of fans for the processor and the case.

What kind of a PC case would you recommend? (silent but cheap?)

Should I get a more decent power-supply (how much would a high-performance PC need?)

I will be launching a lot of application at the same time as well!

Thanks! :D

So how did you fix the freeze problem with Fermi cards?

And why would you need a 850W(!!!) PSU on a single CPU and single GPU setup?
