Diogo Maciel
Hi guys. I could get absolutely everything to work on my VMware Lion, but something is bugging me. When I open a video on youtube I have audio, but the video is black, with an occasional buffering wheel on it. I have no idea what is the problem. Video? I am currently using VMsVGA, but the one with VMware tools would give me the same thing. Any help will be greatly appreciated =)
bschai
Hi, I have the exactly same problem. My current workaround is to use Opera. Only on Opera browser is youtube (and other flash videos) are playable. If I use safari or firefox, flash videos only have sound. I have updated adobe flash to the latest. I don't know what else could have caused this. Please help if you know the solution. Thanks.
Diogo Maciel
Thanks for the workaround idea dude. I wish I could understand what the problem is... With flash update the best I could get was the freaking spinning wheel instead of video..
intrax
Same problem here on latest firefox (8.0). Youtube videos only sound and NO picture... any solutions ? Cannot even pull up the flash settings window to switch off hardware acceleration as it seems to solve the problem in some cases...
Gringo Vermelho
Flash will not work without QE/CI (hardware accelerated graphics). Try the flash to html5 plugin for Firefox.
henrique-it
Hi Diogo! How are u? This problem is because vmware not support 3D acceleration. Follow this operation: 1- Go to youtube.com 2- Open any video u want 3- When open video and appear black screen, click with right button 4- On window go to "configuration" and disable "3D acceleration" 5- Back to home of Youtube and choose any video. But don't forget to take flash player on Adobe.com...I think u have this plugin to open any videos on Youtube I think this is most better solution. Have a good lucky and see ya
