datsyuk
Heres the process I've gone through so far: Boot up with ##### Replace with 10.6.3 disc Install Reboot Setup Install combo update then a grey screen came over saying I need to reboot and could not click or touch anything (planned on running ##### before I did) Then I went to reboot and it would not boot osx back up. Help please? My mobo is GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3, i5 2500k, 9800GTX video card, 4gb of ram installed but 8 in total.
crazyJAT
Try booting from ##### again, then at the chameleon boot screen, use the arrow keys to select your hard drive. It should boot that way. Once at the desktop install what you need with #####. I gave that a try and nothing it would stay spinning at the Apple screen and go no where. Could I always install ##### before the combo update? Is ##### the thing that will make it reboot correctly once installed? MB installs all the stuff you need to boot OSX on non-apples. Install it right after you are in the Desktop the FIRST time. then reboot, then install Combo update, and RE-install MB so that the files the combo has replaced are again replaced with hacked ones. Yes, MB contains a bootloader and this is what makes OSX boot on Pcs ( together with fakesmc and a SMBIOS ). If you are new to OSX86 go with the DSDT-free solution. That's enough to start. Later in your hacker life you will dive deeply into DSDT ( MAC BIOS faking ) and will see why this is the better way to make for example sound, sleep and power work like on real macs with basically no extra files needed anymore. datsyuk
Ahhh okay thank you. So esentially I was on the right track here? Will ##### get my onboard graphics, internet and sound working? And dsdtfree solution? What do you mean? I already have my dsdt for my mobo downloaded from tony macs website dont you use #####, pick the dsdt file and install? I am new to this so go easy on me haha. And last night I got tired of playing with mac and haven't even used my new pc yet so i put windows 7 on it. When i go to install osx and partition a MAC drive will Windows 7 still always be bootable even if i mess it up? And why would the combo update come up with a grey screen like that and dim the background out on me in videos ive seen it will just show the restart button in the installer and you jus have to run ##### before hitting restart.
