No #####? No IOPCIfamily error or waiting for PCI device........? using nawcom's command (can't remember at the moment) worked? I had so much problem going from 10.6.2 to 10.6.8, so I had to go 10.6.7 first, save 10.6.7 kext that I needed then went to 10.6.8, replaced those kexts I saved, replaced Kernel then reboot and it worked. Gringo Vermelho
I've installed leo hazard 10.6.2 on my pc and it worksI would update to 10.6.4 for using the trackpad. I have to install the 10.6.3 before or i can update to 10.6.4? Nobody can help you if you don't post more information about your installation. The update procedure depends on your system configuration, which patches you are using and how/where they are installed. Those with very compatible systems that have patches and fixes implemented in a safe way can do system updates with little to no issues. Those with less compatible hardware (and messed up installations, especially non-retail ones) will have to jump through a few hoops to get safely to 10.6.8. It depends on a lot of factors but the key is to know your hardware and which patches and modifications you need to maintain. If your hardware can't use an unmodified Apple kernel there is a specific update procedure for that - you must rename your patched kernel so that it won't get overwritten by the new kernel that will be installed by the update, and set your /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist (or /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist if you're using the new Chameleon 2.0) to load your renamed kernel instead of Apple's mach_kernel. If you have patched Apple kernel extensions in /System/Library/Extensions, they will be replaced with non-patched ones after the update and that would probably cause them to no longer work on your hardware. Try to find better solutions such as DSDT patching or legacy kexts. If you have deleted kernel extensions from /System/Library/Extensions instead of using "blockers" (disabler.kext for example), they will be re-installed by the update and load on first boot, potentially breaking your installation. These things will be specific to your hardware configuration and installation and unless you're a fan of Hackintosh Russian Roulette it is your job to know about them.
