TimeShift
yes In fact, no. Because it relies on the EFI bootloader that Macs have. OSXLion
hmm.. two contradicting answers... any more? Is there any way to have a full encrypted disk with an hackintosh? smartie77
In fact, no. Because it relies on the EFI bootloader that Macs have. chameleon is the efi bootloader that does the very same job. fv2 relies ONLY on the recovery partition of lion. If this is there you can use fv2 like on a real mac. Real_DVBMan
Is there any information about how to get this recovery partition? Noam AA
i don't think you can get it at this moment, as other said, it relay on the EFI environment macs have. the chameleon emulate this EFI environment, but now FireVault & BootCamp doesn't work (not that bootcamp matter to pc, but anyway, it also something about emulating the mac Boot rom) because they both relay on this EFI environment Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/266439-new-filevault-full-disk-encryption-and-osx86-possible/#findComment-1742245 Share on other sites
TimeShift
You can try it: Click on "Turn on FileVault..." Click "Continue" Select "Do not store the recovery key with Apple" Click "Restart" (it'll not restart) It'll say something about preparing your system then you'll receive an error saying that FileVault can't be enabled on your HD.
