Nippelsmeer
Hi, Today I managed to install SL successfully after lots and lots of problems. But now I'm stuck at another problem. I have an Ati Radeon HD 5700 series graphic card but my resolution is not supported. My native resolution is 1920x1080 but the highest resolution I can choose is 1600x1200, the next in line is 1920x1440, which is not supported by my monitor. I've already tried editing my boot plist, <string>i386</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>busratio=22</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1920x1080x32</string> </dict> </plist> which obviously didn't work. I've also used switchresx with no succes. Any help would be much appreciated. Davirus
The maximum resolution is set by your monitor, not by the system or video card. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/265570-display-resolution/#findComment-1734791 Share on other sites
Nippelsmeer
The maximum resolution is set by your monitor, not by the system or video card. So how can I change it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/265570-display-resolution/#findComment-1734866 Share on other sites
nyolc8
try adding <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> to your boot plist Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/265570-display-resolution/#findComment-1735034 Share on other sites
Shane Hsu
Don't try to tell your system what resolution to use. Let the system decide. use GraphicsEnabler=YES instead of specifying the resolution. Hope it helps. Davirus
So how can I change it You can't, the resolution set in the monitor was set by the manufacturer. Also, what makes you think that your native resolution is "1920x1080"?
