madamax2
hi how do I change the default boot drive to be lion and not snow leopard? (I still got both OS on the hdd, and they both work). I tried going to startup disk in preferences settings and selecting lion, but it would still load snow leopard... I need to select everytime I want to load lion at the boot prompt/screen. I want it to automatically boot lion and not snow leopard

3.14r2
Configure org.chameleon.Boot.plist (com.apple.Boot.plist) to include "Default Partition" option with the Lion partitions specified (either as hd(0,1) or UUID or partition label/name), like: <key>Default Partition</key> <string>Lion</string> More info in Chameleon's documentation. Isn't Chimera a branch of Chameleon? It should support the above boot option as other branches of Chameleon do. Or I'm missing something?

To boot the other partition, just select it from the boot menu (with right/left arrow keys).

Or I'm missing something? I just followed your tip and now I can load lion automatically. Thanks ==- Just wonder how u guys install lion? do u install it over the SL partition? I tried to do this, but lion would not boot, that's why I did this two partition method which leaves me with SL remaining.
random.si
Like OP, I also have Lion and SL , both show in the menu. Using the default option I changed the default to Lion. At first I was editing the Lion\Extra\com.apple.boot.plist but then I noticed it's not doing anything and edited file on SL partition. Question i have is, is the Extra folder on Lion partition that ##### (I think?) put there even doing anything, or is everything loaded from old SL partition? I tried reading the documentation but didn't find much into about multi boot.

When installed to Lion partition, it would use com.apple.Boot.plist located in /LionPartition/Extra. When installed to SL partition, it would use com.apple.Boot.plist located in /SL_Partition/Extr. Hi I tried to install lion to the SL partition but it would not boot lion when I rebooted. only solution was to install to separate partition. Any reason why or how to fix? I got the lion from the appstore [retail] etc..

What about other parts of the Extra folder, are those loaded depending on partition I choose, or all come from SL partition? And 2nd question, is it possible to activate Lion partition so it becomes main one? Because I installed bootloader to Lion partition as well (with #####) but that didnt activate it apparently. tyler: I think the problem with installing to same partition is that you lose bootloader when you do that. If you want it to work, you would have to use cd to boot into the lion after install, and then install bootloader again. (but ##### cd doesnt work, thats why I didn't chose this option as well)

Else I got no idea. Same here, I can't get ##### to load the lion burnt cd or installer on the hdd either. only method that work was doing the xmove method. I think we need to wait for iatkos lion cd to install without doing this dual boot method.
