Yea, this has been talked about pretty extensively. Aparently all PPC systems have an issue with redrawing content from Pages.

I personally think that Quartz2D Extreme is still there and is Enabled by default, as if I go into QuartzDebug on a Tiger PPC system and enable it, I can replicate the same redraw issues as exist under Pages '06.

I have not done an extensive amount of research to test this claim, and am looking up the command line options to disable Quartz2D Extreme and see whether that resolves the issue under Leopard.

However, I would recommend using some caution if you are going to be experimenting with that yourself. Odds are that CoreAnimation has some ties into Quartz, so killing it may also cause such things as Spaces, Expose', Dashboard, Help, and other unknown portions of the OS to completely die.

As for a quick fix:

What one can do is use Zoom out, Zoom in a few times and sometimes it all starts working.

Usually for me, it is 3 cycles and I can use Pages on documents up to 30 pages before it starts getting quirky again.

twood33,

Is it just when sharing pictures or when attempting to view or sort through them?

IF it is only when you are trying to share them, then it could be due to a change in the Leopard APIs.

Under PPCs, when you get above 300 pictures, it will generally stop refreshing the screen and then crash later if you try to resolve the issue with Zooming as one would in Pages.
