When you see a message about a kernel extension with an abnormally high version number (like 9.9.9) that usually means you are using a patched version of that kernel extension in /Extra/Extensions.

This was done by the person who patched that particular kernel extension in order to make sure that it loads instead of the unpatched one in /System/Library/Extensions.

lol yeah, I was going through some older posts. 1 year anniversary is closing in for this topic :grin:

 

But it's kind of relevant..I answered a similar post earlier today where someone had the same issue with a patched kext blocking loading of the original one.

Not surprisingly most of the posts I reply to are similar to posts I replied to a year or two ago. We are going in circles..
