Acidic
Hey all, I upgraded from 10.5.8 to 10.6.3 via snow leopard retail disk. (10.5.8 was retail as well) everything installed correctly but it now hangs on start the white screen with the apple logo. Any suggestions? Gringo Vermelho
When you see a message about a kernel extension with an abnormally high version number (like 9.9.9) that usually means you are using a patched version of that kernel extension in /Extra/Extensions. This was done by the person who patched that particular kernel extension in order to make sure that it loads instead of the unpatched one in /System/Library/Extensions. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/260485-106-upgrade-via-iboot/#findComment-1827200 Share on other sites

Gringo Vermelho
lol yeah, I was going through some older posts. 1 year anniversary is closing in for this topic  But it's kind of relevant..I answered a similar post earlier today where someone had the same issue with a patched kext blocking loading of the original one. Not surprisingly most of the posts I reply to are similar to posts I replied to a year or two ago. We are going in circles..
