PCmacBEG Posted June 20, 2011 Share Posted June 20, 2011 I have been wanting to install Snow Leopard 10.6 on my PC for quite a while. The only problem that I cant get by is that my PC does not have a drive that will burn a DVD(i have the DMG image on my HDD). I have a 16gb external flash drive. I was hoping there would be a way to boot from the flash drive to install OS X but after hours on end searching the internet I have not found anything. I was thinking that there has to be a way to boot from [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] or boot123 to my flash drive but i haven't found a way. THANX for your time. any help will be greatly appreciated! Then you can instal different Chameleon or E/E kexts.. if you want, depend on your configuration .. On windows, Download VMware and format and create a iPortableSnow USB using Disk Utility and then Boot from it. Download the kexts or anything that you need for your machine. It would be very easy for you to to get installed using a USB. Search for iPortableSnow and follow the instructions in the PDF file. Then download VMware and create the bootable USB from inside that. Once iPortableSnow has been downloaded, Your find a .PDF file inside with all the instructions you need. Hope this helps. All the methods i've seen for booting from a usb stick seem to require OSX which as you said you don't have, so you could Install VMWare and patch it to boot OSX and install it there first, then use that to create your bootable usb stick. i used netbookinstaller to create my usb stick for my vostro v13 but i do have a mac.
