Darkstad
I have installed OS X on my computer. Now, I want to change to Windows, so that I can make a dual boot and then install OS X again. My trouble is this: I can't install Windows because it says my disk isn't in a Windows compatible form. I have already formatted it with the MS-DOS option, in Disk Utility, in the Mac OS X DVD, but it keeps saying that. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/25927-windows-after-os-x/ Share on other sites
jonz14
I'm not sure but I think that it needs to be formatted for either FAT32 or NTFS. jwalker46
Darkstad, You can use any "live" Linux CD, or a bootable CD with GParted (a hdd manager), to identify your HDD layout, and to creat a new NTFS partition for Windows. Also, it would help it you would post the layout of your HDD: total size, number of partitions, type of partitions. Finally, in case you need to start from scratch, look for "g4linux" (Ghost for Linux), to make an "image" of your OS X partition. Then, reinstalling it will only take minutes. Altenatively, you may find all of these tools on some of the Acronis packages, which you can purchase, or tryout via the jolly green demon's website. Hope that helps.....
