Good morning, everyone. :)

I'm attempting to install OSX Snow Leopard on a ASUS M4A78T-E motherboard with an AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor.

I am trying to install OSX via iATKOS 3 but I'm running into an unfortunate problem. Every time I try to load the installation program via the bootloader, I am met by a kernel panic. I can't seem to figure out what is happening. I've attached a photo of the kernel panic to this message.

Any help that you folks can give me would be very much appreciated! Thank you!

EDIT: I was able to get past the bootloader and avoid a kernel panic by using a busratio bootflag. However, I now have another problem. My computer just hangs at an Apple loader with a "No Entry" sign above it. I've posted a pic of that as well.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks again!

Now, now, there's no need to be rude, is there? :)

I'll run it in verbose mode in a couple of minutes and I'll be sure to post a picture here. Thanks for your reply!

EDIT: I've attached three photos of the verbose mode. Originally there was an error about Firewire. I disable Firewire and it went away.

Why did you post three photos of the same thing? No additional information can be gathered from the other two photos.

I don't see anything that can be constituted as rude. You posted a two megabyte photo of a grey screen with an Apple on it, which is useless. This is the truth. If you don't like it, then take your Hackintosh to the Apple store and see how far you get.

What about the part where I suggested you boot with -v so we can tell what's actually going on, or do you think it was rude of me to try to help you?

Forum search/google "Still waiting for root device", also type "SB750" (your motherboard southbridge) in the forum search box.

Follow this link and verify that the busratio you're using is correct:

I wasn't sure if you could read everything from just one photo. The second one was blurry so I added a third just to be sure...

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give them a shot and let you know how it goes. :)

Still waiting for root device=It cant find your harddisk

remove any other bootable disk and try again

try to install UUID patch from you Distro.Or use other Boot CDs for osx86 they should include this patch

use RTC 32 bit incase 64 bit didnot work.

usb.. rtclockinit, and sata.. dsdt time!

I think that you may have identified my problem. After some troubleshooting, I was eventually able to install OSX on my HDD but after attempting to load it the first time, it just hung on the Apple logo. So, I tried loading it again in verbose mode. The text appeared on my screen and disappeared REALLY fast to a black screen, so I had to use a burst mode to capture it with a photo.

As you can see in the photo, it says "No DSDT replacement found. Leaving ACPI data as is" and then "Starting Darwin x86" which is where it ends.

So I need to play around with DSDT, maybe?

Thanks again for all of the replies! :P

it says "No DSDT replacement found. Leaving ACPI data as is"

That's a status message, not an error message. It's the Chameleon bootloader telling you that it didn't find a DSDT.aml in /Extra. This is a perfectly normal condition and not related to your issue.

Besides, there's not much you can do as far as DSDT patching goes on AMD hardware. Most of the things we fix via DSDT are related to power management but this is useless on AMD hardware where you can't run the Apple power management drivers and you'll be using a patched kernel.

What video card do you have?

If you're booting to a black screen, try adding -x to your boot flags, this will prevent video drivers from loading.
