Hades
It is an IDE drive
3.14r2
Try setting jumper on the drive to CS (cable select), also select same CS settings for IDE channel in BIOS (if such settings are present). Then check if Dev/Ven ID of IDE controller is present in AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext (LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA.kext).
Gringo Vermelho
AppleIntelPIIblabla will not work, his PATA controller is not Intel.. (yes, today I'm psychic) It is an IDE drive You need to find and install drivers for the PATA controller on your motherboard. What make/model is it, device ID etc etc... What motherboard do you have? Hades
Thx Gringo for the fast reply !! Is there a special place where i can download this .kext ? Is this the right place and kext ? http://www.kexts.com/view/14-jmicronata.html TIA
Gringo Vermelho
I honestly don't know, you'll have to try it and see what happens. I have never installed OS X on a PC with JMicron controller so I haven't kept up with what goes on with this driver. I may have misread but I think there are modified ones that only works for the SATA ports of the controller, and some that are old and probably won't work well or at all on Snow Leopard. If it's not the right one, google some more and look for others, maybe there are different versions of it with support for different JMicron controllers. If you're using Snow Leopard in 64-bit kernel and drivers mode, make sure you get a 64-bit version of the kext. kexts.com might not be the best place to look for a recent version but as I said I don't know if work is still being done on this driver.
