dsp
I'm wondering if my Graphics Performance is what it should be, I hope someone could shed light on this. OSX 10.6.7 Custom DSDT Graphics Card: ASUS ENGTX275 896MB I've only used GraphicsEnabler, so no drivers or whatsoever that didn't came along with the OSX update. I performed this benchmark with OpenGL EV with basic settings. Thank you. mitch_de
Your bench values are good. You may also use Luxmark (OpenCL Benchmark) to bench the GPU or smallluxGPU1.8.2 Beta (also OpenCL but more tests / interactive). http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/LuxMark#Download https://www.rapidshare.com/files/457540119/...luxGPU_beta.zip Both use same codebase, beside other scenes in interactive mode and OceanWave FPS which is smallluxGPU only. In smallluxGPU is an Results tab were already some results are listed to compare, and also can be send by mail after each bench. My former GTS 250 performed good too, but when I play ut2004 or WoW ( for testing ) it ran slow as hell compared to Windows. GTX 275 with ut2004 on 10.6.7 gave me a black screen, other than that it performs well in OSX. Then I thought I try a Nvidia driver which resulted into a kernel panic... so I'm sleeping with Windows 7 again Would like to try OSX any second again though. mitch_de
If its only UT2004 prob and other NEW(fitting to OS X SL) games run well, it is an problem of UT2004, not really your gpu. You can also try my smallFPSBench here - some some enty OpenGL (up to 1.6) gamenear tests. http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/34981/smallopengl-fps-bench My 9600 GT FPS results for both scenes are shown as reference. Dont try Nvidia drivers made for other GPUs (Nvidia 4000 Quadro(Fermi)). Step back to original OS X 10.6.7 drivers by DL 10.6.7 Combo and install all Geforce/NV drivers with pacifist again. You may need, beside graphicenabler=yes also add your dev id of the GPU into the NVHAL40 or NVHAL50. If you have QE/CI (or smallopengl fps bench runs well) already you dont need this dev id adding. dsp
Thanks, everything is working quite perfect natively. I guess I'm just too used to Direct3D acceleration. I Just don't know any game beside Unreal tournament 2004 I like to play on the mac. Wish MS did a better job on Office 2011 including MSN. Oh well, let's not go too far off-topic Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256437-engtx275-graphics-performance/#findComment-1682190 Share on other sites
dsp
The GTX 275 Graphics performance of OSX seems to be a lot slower than in Windows. I got everything working with DSDT, used GraphicsEnabler to enable my Graphics Card. Got 7151 on geekbench. I know OSX isn't build for my PC but isn't there any graphics tweaks or special modification I need to squeeze the best out of my Graphics Card in OSX? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/256437-engtx275-graphics-performance/#findComment-1683229 Share on other sites
dsp
Nothing wrong with graphics, just got full speed on UT2004, I'm happy now. The only thing that's bothering me is that there is no sound. If I look it up on google, this seem to be a common problem. Anyone got a idea? I'm using KX project audio drivers for my EMU 1616m. Thank you. dsp
Soundflower solved the problem. Not in a very good way though, it sucks compared to Windows.
