Hi.

I don't know what's happening to my hack, but after a week with no problems on booting, my computer suddenly doesn't recognize my hard drive when it's in AHCI mode. And of course I can't boot OS X in IDE mode.

Any clues? Thanks in advance.

Not sure, I had that problem trying to install Snow Leopard with retail dvd. Curiously using iATKOS v5 I can detect my HDD.

Maybe using retail DVD isn`t that awesome after all like hackintosh "gurus" use to say.

My guess: the SATA or ATA driver is not working.

Still, I have 3 weeks trying to figure it out without no solution yet.

Yes, yes it is. But the retail DVD obviously only contains drivers for hardware that Apple use.

If you need patched/community-provided drivers, you add them to your Boot CD, or find a boot CD that includes them.

And is there a tutorial on how to do that?

Here's a guide i wrote a while back, files included:

You can experiment with it until you have a boot CD can boot your existing OS X installation.

Every Hackintosh user should have their own boot CD, it's extremely useful in emergency situations.

208 other users had no problem finding it :)
