troisd Posted August 21, 2006 Share Posted August 21, 2006 Mac Pro: 2x Dual-Core Intel Xeon 2GHz-2.66GHz-3GHz, ATI Radeon X1900 XT, OS X Tiger Firstly: What are the motherboard options out there? I saw one by Asus (forgot model)... any others? Which one is used by Mac Pro? Probably custom-made by Intel (TPM chip remember?). Secondly: Anyone tried running Tiger 10.4.x on a dual dual-core system yet? Does Tiger (I suppose kernel 10.4.4) support four cores? Does it register under Profile as four core system? The great thing about Mac Pro is that kext for a truly off-the-shelf X1900 will be available, unless the X1900 used by Apple is also custom-built for Apple only. I define "Hackintosh" as the computer built using "Apple-certified" hardware. I define "OSX86" as the operating system running on said "Hackintosh". So, in essence, I'm asking if anyone has: 1. built a hackintosh following Mac Pro's specification (or close to it), and 2. ran Tiger (10.4.x) on it.
