[EDIT] Never mind - I was using an old hard drive which was faulty. Switched to new 1.5TB and everything now works. Will post a full guide in a few hours.

I installed the previously unthinkable Hazard's 10.6.6i onto my Inspiron 580s. BridgeHelper and MegaBeast got it booting from the HDD. Everything is now working (integrated sound, network, USB, GeForce 9800GT 512MB) with one STRANGE exception.

ALL the USB ports, and Hard Disks read at FULL SPEED!

ALL the USB ports, and Hard Disks write at 2 Megabytes per Second!!!

SATA chipset (I am using all 4 SATA ports) is (Ibex Peak) Intel 5 Series/3400 Series 4 port SATA Controller. 3b208086

I have multiple conflicting AHCI kexts (and possibly ATA kexts). I was wondering if someone could list the default Snow AHCI/ATA/BlockStorage kexts, and if possible even post a zip file here (I guess I could find them on Hazard DVD). I patched the DVD with the PPF supplied, that may not have been the best idea. I still have the original ISO.

If I can get this working, there is only SLEEP to worry about, and there seems to be a fix available there (if I go without Tuxera-NTFS).

PS. I am using a custom DSDT.aml that I exported from within 10.6.6. There is no custom kexts or BIOS for this Dell. It is a H57 Express chipset. I am currently testing ApplePIIXATA2.kext with edited info.plist with 3b208086 under Intel 5 Series AHCI section.

Any and all advice or suggestions gladly accepted!

many thanks in advance, I can nearly smell a working native Snow Leopard Hackintosh now.
