I have just replace my damned GTX460 instead a Asus 5870

I have make a fresh install with the last ##### version (Tonymacx86) and after apply ##### 3.2 at the next reboot the screen go black (no video signal) just before the login.

After press the power button for sleep and press again the system wake up and the card is fully reconized.

After the boot the card seem work regulary and the sleep work well.

I have installed the "Chameleon 2.0 RC5 r700 by Kabyl" inside the ##### 3.2

After the first black screen (no signal) I simply put to sleep my system thru the power button and after te next wake-up the monitor (Dell U2711 via DVI) work greit.

I can put to sleep and the monitor still work fine.

My Cinebench score are about 35 and either resolution and QE are good.

What I can resolve the first black screen on startup?

Many regards

My system boot in 64bit mode.

this is my boot.plist:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
 <key>Kernel</key>
 <string>mach_kernel</string>
 <key>Kernel Flags</key>
 <string></string>
 <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>Timeout</key>
 <string>1</string>
 <key>Legacy Logo</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
 <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
 <string>Yes</string>
</dict>

Try adding this to your boot.plist file.

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1680x1050x32</string>

Make sure you change the numbers to match your monitors resolution.

Many thanks snackole, th string:

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1920x1440x32</string>

finally solve my problem!

I have checked the highest resolution video BIOS via the command

?video

at Chameleon boot screen.

Many regards

Whit Lion i'm switched to GraphicsEnabler=No and still not necessary the string above:

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1680x1050x32</string>

all work fine (except DVD Player...) but randomly the screen go black at boot before login and then just replug the DVI cable to power on the monitor.

This appear very randomly but I can not able to debug this problem.

Have any idea?

I think I'm noticing the same problem. I'm on a EP45-DS3L board, using a HD 5750. I'm testing out Lion, and I'm not sure if I only noticed this after updating to 10.7.1. The problem seems random, half the times it boots into a black screen, and a restart fixes it. I haven't tried sleeping it and waking it, or unplugging the DVI cable.

Any leads? Note I already have native res set in the boot.plist.

Edit: Haven't had the black screen in a while, but I got it again just now. Sleeping the computer and then waking it did restore it however.
