daworkhorse
Hi, I am new to hackintosh'ing and new to osx86. I went ahead even though I'm also new to the insanelymac, I attempted Mammoth's guide (dvx mammoth guide). I've read I can't post outside of this forum until I have 10 posts, so I will post here until then. Initial issues during install including not being to use the current Mammoth boot cd, I am not sure why. I ended up using tonymac's ##### to boot into the snow leopard retail install. After the install I was able to copy the files on the mammoth cd to install mammoth to the hard drive so i can boot off the hard drive without using a boot cd. I was able to get to installation part 3 pdf of the install successfully where macbook pro update 1.3 was installed. Once I restarted i got the following errors... waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out the IOUSBFamily is having trouble enumerating a USB device questions 1. how can i fix the errors above 2. is there any way to boot into the OS without having to re-install OSX again? Where do I go from here? I've done some reading and people do stuff with dsdt or kexts, but i'm not even sure where to start. Any and all help is much appreciated. daworkhorse
I tried updating the 10.6.4 combo update bypassing the macbook pro update 1.2 and I ended up getting another error along with the previous 2 errors ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::registerLPCDriver - failed to locate SMC driver. So currently I'm running 10.6.3 on the laptop in my signature hp dv5-2074dx with a dual boot into Windows 7. My lan ethernet, touchpad work out of the box without having to do anything. My webcam, wireless card isn't working. If anyone can provide me any insight or advice, I'd appreciate it. It looks like if I can put 8 more posts in, I can join that request to beta that Mammoth is running for which I used this guide to do the install. RunningJumper
The way I have it working on my DV7 3085dx is by using ##### to load 10.6.3 and then using the 10.6.5 combo update from Apple. Do not reboot directly after installing the combo update...use Tonymacs ##### pkg to set up your generic kexts. Then reboot and tweak the rest of your system with specific kexts for your hardware. I am running an ##### dsdt (from #####) and booting with cpus=1 until I can figure out the whole custom dsdt thing. It eludes me at this point, but I have 90% of my PC working.
