I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and am having issues getting the integrated "HP Webcam" to work (that's the actual name in System Profiler, not sure of the exact make/model). It is recognized in my USB device tree, but I cannot use it - in most applications, its input is either a black screen or the app says the camera is in use by another application. I went into my System Preferences > Accounts to try and see if taking a picture for my user accounts would work (as some on this board reported that was the only place theirs worked) but System Preferences froze when I tried to take the picture. It shows the automated 3-2-1 before the picture is taken but a white space appears where the picture should be. Obviously, my webcam isn't functioning properly. Anyone have an idea of what is going wrong? Seeing as it is connected via USB, it is worth noting that the only one of my external USB ports that functions properly is the joint USB/eSATA port. I am using USB kexts from #####. Help?
