ubeeubee
I tested this solution using Snow Leopard 10.6.4 (no need extra kext or mod existing kexts). My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6550eg Here is my webcam: 1. Download and install CamTwist 2. Open CamTwist and select webcam as video source: 3. Open CamTwist preferences and make sure it is look like this: 4. Now open Photo Booth (but it still shows black screen): 5. Go back to CamTwist preferences and tick force camera resolution: 6. By now it should work with Photo Booth. Cheers.
zxmn
Thanks! It helps! EDIT: I found a simpler way. Checking/Unchecking "Force camera resolution" simply "reloads" the camera. If I launch Photobooth first, then only CamTwist, it works. If I launch CamTwist first, then I have to check/uncheck.
JBraddock
Check out this topic. My HP Webcam (Quanta) is seen as iSight thanks to the solution on this topic. It was working way before this hack but now it works better. It may work for you too. Give it a try.
